Cabana do Caranguejo: tables under the thatched roof, people having lunch, the beach behind
Open to everyone

The boat ride to Cabana do Caranguejo is on us

Across the river from Atins: a solar-powered beach shack you can only reach by water.

Cabana do Caranguejo is run by the same people as Atins Beach House — that is why the crossing is on us. You do not need to be staying with us.

The Caranguejo I — the boat is ours, and it is the one that takes you over and brings you back.

How it works

  • The boat leaves from our Deck. From the water's edge at the Atins Beach House Deck, right in front of the guesthouse. You can just turn up and talk to our team — but arranging it beforehand on WhatsApp secures your place, and we will be expecting you.
  • The crossing takes 10 to 15 minutes. The best time to arrive is 10:30 — there is time for the beach, a drink, a slow lunch and a rest before heading back.
  • You come back whenever you like. Just tell the team at the Cabana. The last boat leaves at 5 pm, when the team heads home — whoever stays to the end comes back with them.
  • There is a kitchen at the Cabana. Grilled fish and prawns, pasta, crêpes, drinks and fresh juices. The crossing is on us; food and drinks are paid there, and we take cards, cash and pix — the Cabana has Starlink internet, so payment works even across the river.

Arrange your crossing

We put the message together for you. Nothing is saved here — it opens straight in WhatsApp.

The message that will be sent

The Cabana is open every day. In heavy rain or a bad tide the crossing may not run — anyone who arranged it beforehand is told; anyone who turns up is told by the team on the spot. Children cross accompanied by a responsible adult, and we have life jackets for anyone who wants one.
